Beer Pong – As American as Apple Pie?

Music all the way back to the 1970s, the game of Beer Pong has gained great popularity in many places such as universities, basements, garages and even swimming pools. Many believe the game was invented sometime in the late 70s and was modeled after the same game played with real Ping Pong Paddles. It is rumored that an unnamed university, there were no shovels available for players only resorted to launch the ping-pong balls in the cup in place.

The game of Beer Pong, Beirut also known in some circles, consists of 2-4 players
standing in the opposite ends of a ping pong table or large table, trying to land the Ping Pong balls in the tops of the other teams, making them easier to drink (or chug) the beer is in the cup that the ball landed in. Normally the cup is full quarter or half with beer. The team that beats all the other teams cups first is declared the winner.

There are many rules associated with the game of Beer Pong although the rules may vary in virtually all the different places you play. Rollbacks go when a player or a team makes one or both of his shots and gets to shoot again before the other team. Bouncing the ball in an opponents cup double but makes them drink is quite difficult and the opposing team can try to block the ball bounced. Distraction is also a tactic that can be used by the defending team where gestures are made, make noises, insults thrown on the table and even some acts of provocation, when members of the opposite sex are involved.

Normally an opponent can request a new rack of glasses once per game. Re-rack means that the cups can be re-arranged in almost any way to make shots easier. popular forms would be a triangle, diamond, straight or sidecar.
The supplies you need for a game of Beer Pong is very simple. All you need is 14 plastic cups, six for each team and two additional water to wash the balls. A good supply of Ping Pong balls, a sort of long table, and beer!

Many hard-core players have special tables for beer pong. You can also buy very nice
portable tables that can double travel you wherever you may want to play. These days, even Floating Beer Pong Tables are used in a pool or in a calm lake. There is even the professional association appearing as "The World Series of Beer Pong," which held a day 3 $ 50,000 prize money tournament in Las Vegas! The Pabst Blue Ribbon Tournament sponsored held at the Flamingo in January 2009 and had about 800 players from 45 states.

Although the game can be an absolute blast and lots of fun with a large group
a party, always drink responsibly and hand over the keys instead of getting behind the wheel after playing Beer Pong.
